The exhibition features the paintings of Alan Robb, who was for twenty years Head of the School of Fine Art at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, University of Dundee. His early work reflects his interest in popular culture and was inspired by his love of comics, particularly his favourites The Beano, The Topper and The Beezer. Keen to learn the visual language of the comic artist, early pieces were based on collages cut directly from British and American comics.

The exhibition also features selected works from Robb's own collection by some of his friends and colleagues at Duncan of Jordanstone College.
